More on Ezzo...
You can catch the next two parts of TulipGirl's discussion on Ezzo here and here...Like I have said before, I think that the majority of things in life need to be looked at with a balance. Much like the Calvinist and Armenian theologies debate opposite ends of the spectrum to an extreme, I believe that the Growing Kids interpretation of childrearing combats the arguments of attachment interpretation in a similar extreme fashion. I think there is good, valid points in each extreme but there is definitely a healthy balance between the two. And remembering that each child is created in it's own uniqueness and what worked for one is not necessarily going to work for the other...Mike and I did go through a class a while back with Ezzo's materials, as well as several other materials by James Dobson and Ted Tripp and others. There are several really good ideas within his understanding, however, I would be concerned when any one person says that their way is the only way to raise kids, or do anything really, and be pleasing to God- especially when this is done in a way that brings about disunity within the body of Christ over non-essential matters...
